To obey or not to obey, the choice is yours

Read or say verse, … I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. Dt 30:19 (NIV)
God our Father in heaven says there are only two paths in life. He wants us to choose the path of obedience and not the foolish path of disobedience.

Path of obedience which leads to heaven

⦁ There is only one way to get on this path. And that’s through God’s son Jesus Christ.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

⦁ To stay on this path requires obedience to God’s word. We read and obey God’s word. We desire to please God, to walk according to His word and ways.

If you love me, you will obey what I command. John 14:15 (NIV)

We are required to walk out God’s word in our life:

* forgive those who hurt us
* love others as we love ourselves
Along the way when we make mistakes, we’ll ask for forgiveness.
⦁ Path of obedience which leads to heaven
⦁ Anything goes on this path. Do whatever feels right.
There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. Proverbs 16:25
We live in a world that is lost and everyone is trying to find their way in this life, but very few find the right path.
The Bible is a Spiritual road map for our life. If we follow it, it will keep us on the right path. If we don’t follow God’s road map we’ll get lost.
God allows U-turns, because of what Jesus did on the cross
If you ever find yourself on the path if disobedience remember that God allows u-turns. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (NIV)
